Introduction

Bev Behar has been providing couple and marriage counselling, family therapy, psychotherapy and individual counseling for more than 30 years. She helps men, women, children, adolescents, couples and families by providing:

• counselling for couple and family relations
• marriage enrichment and preparation
• separation and divorce counselling for adults, children, teens and parents
• parent/child relation counselling
• counselling for blended families
• intergenerational and adult sibling counselling
• counselling for transitions, life events, orientations and decisions
• grief and loss counselling
• counselling for the challenges coping with elderly parents, teens, and children with special needs
• family of origin counselling (e.g. physical, emotional and sexual abuse survivors, adult children of alcoholics etc.)
• assertiveness training
• therapy for depression, anxiety, worry and panic

Bev runs therapy groups, and enrichment programs in couple and family relations, emotional well-being and healing. She teaches, trains, and supervises marriage and family therapists. Bev has been a manager of a major Family Service Agency in the Greater Toronto Area and Coordinator of an Employee Assistance Program. She has been involved in organizational development and professional coaching. Bev was the president of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy from 1999 to 2001 and a member of the Board of Director of the Canadian Registry of Marriage and Family Therapists.
