Ellis Nicolson M.Div; RMFT

Ellis has an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Masters Degree in counselling focusing on couple and family therapy from Tyndale Seminary.

Ellis is available for speaking engagements, including lunch and learns.  Topics include: Healthy Couple Relationships; Anger Management, Time Management/Procrastination; Stress Management; Anxiety; Depression; Self-Esteem; and Life after Relationship Breakdown.

Ellis believes that healthy relationships are possible.  In order to achieve such it is important to learn how to care for your self.  Couples often get themselves stuck in a negative cycle of interaction, or negative dance if you like.  It is my job to help my clients understand the dance they are in and what drives it.  Once this is done, we can work together to create a dance that causes the couple to turn towards each other rather than away.  It is important that each person acknowledge that they have a part in maintaining the dance, thus each person must take responsibility in changing their behaviour in order to get the type of relationship they want.

Ellis has expertise in the area of couple and family counselling. Ellis’ practice also focuses on anger management, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma recovery, stress management, boundary setting (co-dependency), and parenting.
