INTRODUCTION

I am a registered social worker, registered marriage and family therapist and international certified alcohol and drug addiction counselor. I have been active in counseling, consultation and teaching for over 30 years.

My counseling and therapy practice, covering a wide range of individual and couple issues, is tailored to the needs and presentation of each specific client and set of problems. My work includes brief problem solving as well as long-term therapy for individuals, couples and families.

I have two sub specialties along with my general counseling practice. These include problematic and compulsive use of drugs, alcohol, and gambling and also AD/HD (Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity). Click for additional information.

I also function as a clinical consultant and professional trainer. In this capacity, I consult to individual therapists, present at conferences, train social agency personnel and do a variety of workshops for industry and community groups. Most often the consultation and training is in the area of addictions and their impact on the family

My practice’s philosophy is based on sensitivity and respect for clients. I believe strongly in the inner worth of individuals and their great potential for positive change. Talking with people about their problems, I try to balance compassion for them with listening for potential paths to solutions.
